Areas of Implementation:

Prey Veng (28 communes)

Implementation period:

January 2012 – December 2012

Project summary:

The project improves governance of the primary health system by implementing a community score card (CSC) in 21 health centers. In each health center, meetings are held in every village served by the health center. The meetings are facilitated by locally selected community representatives who are known and trusted by villagers and health center staff, and villagers are encouraged to raise important issues in relation to health services. Interface meetings between staff and community representatives are held to draw up action plans to improve services. This provides health center staff and commune councilors who are members of the health center management committees with systematically collected information reflecting citizens’ views of the performance of the primary health system, and identified ways that citizens think services can be improved.
